Michigan Central Railroad Bridge
After almost a year of reconstruction, the old Michigan Central Railroad bridge has been restored to it’s former glory.
Although it no longer has tracks nor trains running across it, the bridge is now a link between the Paint Creek Trail and the Clinton River Trail. It crosses the Paint Creek adjacent to the Royal Park Hotel and allows bikers and walkers to move seamlessly from one trail to the other. The setting of the bridge is dramatic, with the five star hotel as a backdrop and natural beauty surrounding.
The project was initiated and completed by the Rochester Downtown Development Authority. It was an expensive project, but maintaining the historic structures in Rochester has always been a priority.
I think the bridge looks terrific. What do you think?

It’s nice work, but when was it first constructed?
