bridgeAfter almost a year of reconstruction, the old Michigan Central Railroad bridge has been restored to it’s former glory.

Although it no longer has tracks nor trains running across it, the bridge is now a link between the Paint Creek Trail and the Clinton River Trail. arroyoPublished June 11, 2009, the fifth book of photography from City Photos and Books, Inc. features the beautiful and historic town of Rochester, Michigan, located in northern Oakland County.

According to author Rod Arroyo:

It offers a dynamic combination of rich history, quality growth, and vibrancy that encompasses downtown, other business areas, and the neighborhoods. This is a walkable community. Whether it is a downtown sidewalk, the Paint Creek Trail, Rochester Municipal Park or a neighborhood sidewalk, people are walking, biking or running in and around the City every day.

The Rochester book is available at:

downtownadrianWhat does the term “Main Street” mean to you? I suspect it means different things to different people, but I also think that there is a common definition somewhere inside all of us about what Main Street is.

I think that the Adrian Downtown Development Authority has come up with a good description of what main street is.

Main Street has become a handy phrase to describe everything that is wholesome or ‘right’ with our country.
Downtown Adrian

What do you think? As always, we welcome your comments.
